Albert was born November 21, 1933 in Audincourt, France. His parents, Robert and Genia Brissoni raised Albert and his brother in France.

He was educated in instrumentation and machining in France. In 1952 Robert had seen enough war in his life that he stuck Albert and his brother on a boat headed for Canada. This was to avoid them being drafted into the French Foreign Legion and shipped to war.

Albert worked odd jobs around the country from one side to the other including gold mining in the Yukon, in which Albert commented it didn’t PAN OUT WELL!

He settled on Vancouver Island in the Courtney/ Comox area. While he lived there, he had many adventures. He bought a 36-man life boat in Vancouver and sailed it to the island to convert into his own fishing vessel with a canopy and a BBQ’s. He raised rabbits for quite a few years until federal laws shut him down.

He also had shipped a load of grapes, casks and barrels from Italy so that Albert could produce their wine for them. He was well known for his wine abilities at this time. He never wasted anything in his life and this is when he started making shine out of the grape mash!

He was a very smart man and constructed his own still that could be taken apart and hid around the barn when the cops came. At this point he was hiding the moonshine down his well tied on with fishing line.

He was very inventive in all aspects of his life from making weighted automatic gates that when you drove on them, they opened, and took tractor attachments for making farming easier.

Albert then moved from the Island to Calgary so he could pursue a career in machining for oil equipment. This is when Albert designed and built an eight-cylinder rotary engine designed with massive power and ability to run off many types of fuel. The oil hierarchy kept his engine out of the industry because of its efficiency and great power production. Albert tried many times to produce this engine, which he was met with constant resistance by the oilfield hierarchy to where he had given up on this dream.

Albert loved to dance and was a regular at the Legion dance nights. This is where he met Mary. They hit it off because Albert didn’t spin her around or step on her feet. After a little while together Mary and Albert bought a house in Paynton to be closer to Mary’s family. This is when we all met this gem of a man. He constantly stayed busy through his 80’s renovating the house, drastically changing the yard as well as attaching a 2-car garage to their home. Meanwhile he stuck true to his wine making skills and adapted a new smaller still. He always was in the mood and ready for friends to stop by and sample any wine or shine.

He always warned newcomers to sip and not chug the high-test shine. Over the years we had many great laughs about the people who didn’t listen. Anywhere from laying in town ditches to people wrecking Mary’s flowers trying to leave Albert’s deck.

He stayed true to his dancing background at the Rhubarb Festival a few weeks ago. As the ladies know, he put a lot of miles on that evening showing off his dancing skills.

Albert lived a full happy existence and now his final wish is granted to spend eternity beside the love of his life, Mary.

In keeping with his wishes, Albert will be cremated and will be laid to rest with Mary on Thursday, July 23,2026 in the Paynton Cemetery in Paynton, SK at 2:00PM. He will be fondly remembered for many years to come.
