It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pius Fritz, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2026, at Pioneer Care Home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, at the age of 83.

Born on March 15, 1943, in Colonsay, Saskatchewan, Pius was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, journeyman carpenter, musician, and storyteller. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Iris; his parents, John and Helen Fritz; his brother, Isadore; and his sister, Jenny.

Pius is lovingly remembered by his children, Angela Brecheisen (Wolfgang) and Robert Fritz (Heather); and his grandchildren, Rahne Magnusson, Grayson Fritz, and Sam Fritz.

Known for his love of music, quick wit, artistic doodles, and gift for storytelling, Pius brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. His warm spirit and unforgettable smile will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Saints Martyrs-Canadiens Church, 1007 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
