SJHL SCHEDULE RELEASE

Battlefords North Stars to kick off 2026-27 regular season against the Kindersley Klippers

Jun 22, 2026 | 2:46 PM

The SJHL schedule has been released, and the Battlefords North Stars will open the 2026-27 season at home against the Kindersley Klippers on Sept. 18.

Unlike previous seasons, when the North Stars typically opened with a home-and-home against Kindersley, the team will remain in the Battlefords for the entire opening weekend, welcoming the Nipawin Hawks to town on Sept. 19.

The North Stars will have a home-heavy first half of the season before spending more time on the road in the latter half.

In the first half of the season, the North Stars will play 16 of their 28 games at home, including six of their first eight at the Access Communications Centre.

The second half will see the North Stars on the road 16 times. That includes 11 of their final 15 games away from home and just four total home games in February and March.

The North Stars’ longest homestand spans five games over two weeks from Nov. 13 to 27. During that stretch, they will play their first two games of the season against the Yorkton Terriers, who eliminated them in the second round last year. They will also face the Estevan Bruins, Flin Flon Bombers and La Ronge Ice Wolves during that span.

Their longest road stretch will run from Oct. 17 to 28. Over those 11 days, the North Stars will visit the Warman Wolverines for a pair of games, along with stops against the Melville Millionaires, Yorkton Terriers and Melfort Mustangs to complete the five-game road trip.

Notable games for the North Stars during the regular season include:
