Battlefords RCMP say a traffic stop in North Battleford led to the arrest of a local man and the seizure of illicit drugs.

Officers pulled over a car with no license plate on 15th Avenue in North Battleford at around 1:50 p.m. on June 11.

During the investigation, officers determined the male passenger was wanted on a Battlefords RCMP warrant for charges that included possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, escape lawful custody, and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle located two grams of psilocybin, 35 grams of methamphetamine, 1.66 kilograms of illicit cannabis, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
