Two Edmonton men face charges after Lloydminster drug trafficking investigation
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team has charged two Edmonton men after officers seized cash and illegal drugs during a drug trafficking investigation in Lloydminster.
On June 11, as part of an ongoing investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a room in a hotel on 50th Avenue in Lloydminster. During the search, officers located and seized $40,000 in cash, 6.182 litres of gamma hydroxybutyrate, 243 grams of fentanyl, 233 grams of cocaine, and 725 grams of methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, two men from Edmonton have each been charged with five trafficking related charges.
“This seizure represents a significant disruption to the illicit drug trade in Lloydminster and area,” said Sgt. Aaron Gervais with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team. “By removing these dangerous substances, and the financial incentives behind them, we are directly investing in community prevention and safety.”
