It is with heavy hearts the family of Marlene Harrison announce her passing on May 5, 2026 at the age of 78 years.
Marlene was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on October 26, 1947. She spent part of her early years in the Wasaga Beach area. One of Marlene’s fondest memories from living there was cleaning cabins with her Mom, with her prized payment always being a Coca Cola and a bag of chips. She later settled down in the Battlefords with her Mom and siblings.
Marlene met Arthur and after two dates Art proposed and Marlene accepted. On Oct. 1, 1966 Marlene married the love of her life. Together they raised three children, Gail, Brad and Michael, in Battleford. Over the next 40 years she worked at Sask Hospital, Battlefords Union Hospital and babysat many children. Before retiring, she worked at the lottery KIOSK in the Frontier Mall.
More than anything, she loved having family gathered around the kitchen table for meals, laughter, and stories. Marlene loved sitting down with son Michael watching her favorite TV shows, having her morning coffee and her daily cuddles/battles with her cat, Miss Kitty. She looked forward to her daily FaceTime chats with daughter Gail, as well as connecting with son-in-law Dean and grandson Logan. Marlene loved her cruises with son Brad, and daughter-in-law Jeanine. In later years she relished listening to their stories of their travels around the world.
She valued the time spent with brother Gary and his wife Debbie and cherished the ever deepening bond between them. Marlene especially loved her playful banter with family friend’s Leon and Byron, and chats with “other son” Wayne.
Marlene was grateful for her Dialysis team and the friendships she made during her time there.
Marlene will be forever missed and loved by her family and friends. She is survived by children Gail (Dean), Brad (Jeanine), and Michael, her grandson Logan, brothers Clayton (Mary), Gary (Debbie), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marlene was pre-deceased by husband Arthur, daughter Cheryl, Mother Lucille, and brother Jay; sister-in-law, Corinne.
