Genevieve Ellen Works (nee Gamble)
July 28, 1941 – April 21, 2026
With great sadness we announce the passing of Genevieve Ellen Works. She was born in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan. She met her husband Russel in Belbutte, Saskatchewan. They were married on June 20, 1959, in Medstead, Saskatchewan and shared 66 years of devoted partnership.
Genevieve was a homemaker and farmer’s wife, raising 3 children and tending to a herd of livestock during the winter months when Russel was away working. Genevieve had many talents which included sewing, crocheting, knitting, oil painting, gardening and quilting. Russel and Genevieve also enjoyed old time dancing, clogging, and extensive travel.
She was predeceased by her parents Wendell and Ellen Gamble, her brothers Gordon, Dick, Dave, Wendell, and Johnny. She is survived by her husband Russel, her brother Keith (Linda), her children Allan (Laura) Works, Joyce Works, Margaret (Lloyd) Cook, her grandchildren Justin Works, Evelyn (Sead) Dezic, Russell Alaers, Megan Works, and great grandchildren Jasmine Works, Aidynne Works, Auron Works, Ajla Dezic, Lejla Dezic, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in September 2026. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan. Genevieve will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
