Two women charged after RCMP seize firearms and drugs in RM of Mervin
Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford and Lloydminster Crime Reduction Teams have charged two women after firearms and illegal drugs were seized in the RM of Mervin.
On Feb. 25, the CRTs were in the Turtleford detachment area working to arrest offenders wanted on warrants by the RCMP.
CRTs attended a residence in the RM of Mervin after receiving insight and support from the Turtleford RCMP detachment. While at the residence, officers located a woman who was wanted on multiple warrants for charges in Saskatchewan and Alberta, including assaulting a police officer, flight from police, and breaching court-ordered conditions. The wanted woman was arrested, along with a second woman who was located inside the residence.
As part of the investigation, officers obtained a warrant and searched the residence along with a vehicle at the property. During their search, officers located and seized three firearms, an air gun, ammunition, firearm magazines, 3.5 kilograms of illicit cannabis, 20 grams of methamphetamine, 120 pharmaceutical-style tablets, and 1.2 grams of cocaine.
