‘Someone knows’: family seeks justice nearly two years after Candie Pritchard’s death

Nearly two years have passed since the remains of Candie Pritchard were found outside a residence on Red Pheasant Cree Nation.  

As the investigation continues, Saskatchewan RCMP ask the public to report any information about the suspicious death that occurred Feb. 5, 2024. 

Pritchard was a 44-year-old woman from Rabbit Lake, her mom, Lorna, continues to keep her memory alive. 

“Two years ago, our lives were forever changed when my daughter was murdered. The silence since then has been unbearable. Someone knows what happened, and we are pleading for that person or persons to come forward.” 

“My daughter deserves justice and our family deserves peace. She was a caring, loving daughter, mom, sister and gramma. She never got the chance to meet or hold her two grandsons,” Lorna said.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) continues to investigate Pritchard’s death and follow up on new information received. The investigation remains active and ongoing with no charges laid.  

Inspector Ashley St. Germaine, senior investigative officer with Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Branch said even a small detail could make a difference in this ongoing investigation. 

“We know there are people who have information about what happened to Candie, and we need them to tell police what they know,” she said. 

Anyone with information about Pritchard’s death is asked to report it to police. Tips can be submitted by calling Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267).. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
