North Battleford removes snares following coyote control efforts

Jan 30, 2026 | 3:24 PM

The City of North Battleford has issued an update on the recent placement of snares at the Waste Management Facility.

Earlier this month, trapping activities began due to coyotes exhibiting bold behavior, including directly approaching the public.

As of Jan. 30, the snares have been removed from the property. A total of 20 coyotes have been caught, thinning the pack enough to reduce a personal safety risk to the public and landfill staff.

The City of North Battleford said it will continue to monitor its property to ensure that risk remains minimal.
