Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame looks forward to upgrades as inductions open for 2026

Jan 23, 2026 | 11:01 AM

Nominations are now open for inductions to the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

President Jane Shury said the process for nominations is quite simple.

“All they have to do is email saskbaseballmuseum@sasktel.net and we can send back an attachment of the form. There are some instructions, but if you have different questions, you can give us a call at 306-446-1983, and I will certainly answer your questions and give you whatever information I can to help.”

In terms of the nomination categories, individuals, including players, coaches and builders, can be inducted, and so can teams.

Last year, the following made it into the Hall of Fame:

  •  Kasmer Andreychuk (Yorkton)
  • Glen Connor (Beechy)
  • Sherman Cottingham (Clinton Township, Michigan)
  • Penny Fitzsimmons (Saskatoon)
  • Murray Grey (Waymont)
  • Ken Hamilton (Assiniboia)
  • Logan Hofmann (Muenster)
  • Kevin Payne (Lloydminster)
  • Rye Pothakos (Saskatoon)
  • Darren Schaan (Regina)
  • Max White (Goodwater) posthumously
  • Riverhurst Thumpers 2005-2015
  • 1978 Melville Bantam ‘A’ Millionaires
  • 1992 Battleford ‘A’ Beavers

On top of the nominations being opened, Shury mentioned the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is also looking to freshen up some of it’s stock heading into the spring season. They will be getting new branded cups and mugs to buy, and will be looking to order a few other souvenir options for visitors.

The hall is also in the process of digitizing a lot of their content in an effort to make it a lot more accessible, although that work is still in the very early stages.
