Tucker wins gold as Canada gets three medals at World Para Athletics Championships

NEW DELHI — Victoria’s Nate Tucker won gold as Canada finished the World Para Athletics Championships with three medals on Sunday.

Tucker set a new championship record of three minutes 57.98 seconds in the men’s T38 1,500 metre middle-distance race as he finished atop the podium.

Liam Stanley, also from Victoria, was ninth in the race, crossing the line in a time of 4:07.31.

Sprinter Marissa Papaconstantinou of Toronto earned Canada’s first silver medal of the World Para Athletics Championships.
