It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alex Hofmann on June 14, 2025. Alex will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the love of his life, Lynn, his siblings, Fred and Rhonda, his closest friend, Coop, Lynn’s children, Richie, Mandy and Bruce (Mason and Cole), Chuck and Christine (Taylor, Carson and Sylvie), and numerous cousins and friends.
Alex was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Wes, and by Lynn’s dad, Charlie.
Alex was born in Saskatoon in July of 1956. His early childhood was spent in Vanguard and Macklin, and he attended school in Macklin, Hanley, Rosthern and Kindersley.
After graduation, Alex entered the field of banking with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce with posts in various locations throughout Saskatchewan. It was while posted in Eston that Alex became lifelong friends with Laird “Coop” Cooper. They coached high school football and took many fishing trips to Jan Lake over the years. It was a friendship that spanned 30+ years. After leaving the Bank of Commerce, Alex continued in the banking field with the Credit Union.
Alex initially met Lynn while working together in Kindersley and they reconnected a few years later. They made their home in North Battleford, enjoying their trips to Candle Lake and later to Waterhen in their camper.
Not wanting to completely retire, Alex dabbled in a few other ventures including insurance and accounting before deciding that he had enough of the nine-to-five routine. After retirement, Alex and Lynn looked forward to visits with family and friends, and the time spent together puttering in their yard.
At Alex’s request, there will be no funeral. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sherbrooke Community Center, 401 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon SK S7H 2E7.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service and Crematorium-Funeral Director, Tessa Bell
