19-year-old man confirmed dead following shooting on MGBHLM

A 19-year-old man from Red Pheasant Cree Nation was discovered dead in a vehicle following what police are referring to as an altercation between two groups on the weekend.

His family has been notified.

Just after noon on Saturday, the RCMP learned about the vehicle with the man inside on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation.

According to police, those involved were travelling in separate vehicles when the man was shot and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit now has the case.

Although the investigation continues, a 46-year-old man was scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm and one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
