North Battleford council to set appointments, receive notice of retirement in first regular meeting of 2025
Committee appointments, the mayor attending an economic development event and the upcoming retirement of a city official are all on the agenda for North Battleford Council this evening.
As the newly elected and re-elected members take their collective seats for the first regular council of 2025, names for representatives have been put forth for a variety of boards and committees.
The two freshmen councillors Dennis Mercer and Rodney Fedler would begin their appointments retroactively from Jan. 1 for a period ending Dec. 31, 2026.
Should his appointment be approved, Mercer’s portfolio will include River Valley Board, Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts, the Community Development Financial Assistance and the REC Group Fundraising Committee. Fedler’s portfolio would consist of Destination Battlefords, Dekker Centre and Concern for Youth.
