P.A.’s Zablocki and team finish group stage perfect at U18 women’s hockey worlds
Prince Albert’s Stryker Zablocki scored twice and Marilou Grenier made 20 saves as Canada blanked Czechia 5-0 Tuesday at the world women’s under-18 hockey championship.
Canada finished the preliminary round in the top spot in Group B with nine points from three regulation wins and will face Japan in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
Zablocki was named ‘Player of the Game’ for her efforts including the first goal scored just :80 seconds into the first period tipped off a shot from Sydney Sawyer who also had a goal for Canada. Alex Therien and Anaïs Leprohon also scored.
