It was a great showing for the Battlefords United Football Club (BUFC) as they had four teams in Saskatoon this past weekend for the Aurora Soccer Tournament.

For the U11 Boys Division 3 team, it was their first tournament of the season and they were very impressive, winning two games and only losing one throughout the weekend.

The U11 Boys Division 2 team was also in attendance and had great results as well. This was their second tournament this year, and they went undefeated throughout the weekend, making them also undefeated this season as they didn’t lose any games in their last tournament.

For the girls, there was only one team that was at the tournament and it was the U13 Division 3 Girls team, this was also their first tournament of the season. In their first game they lost 4-2, in their second game they fell short 4-1 and in their final game they ended up tying the game 3-3. Overall, it was a great weekend for the team as they saw big improvement and put in lots of hard work.

The last team that was there was the U15 Boys Division 2 team, who went undefeated and it was their first tournament also. In their first game, it was a close one but they took the win 3-2. For their second matchup, they had another close game and came away with the win 3-1. In their third game, they really played well, winning 14-1 and advanced to the finals.

Then in the finals, it was a really close battle, but the boys played strong and held the other team to no goals and won 2-0 to take home the trophy.

“We’re pretty proud of how we represented. We have continued to grow and step forward and put ourselves at the top of every division that we’ve been entered in. So I couldn’t be more excited about that, we are showing better every time and it’s been an amazing start to the season. I couldn’t be happier with how our club is growing and how we’re pushing our competitive level every season to showcase our athletes and our club.” said Technical Director of the BUFC, Kat Huxley.

The next tournament for the BUFC is December 6th to 8th in Saskatoon and they will have 12 teams in attendance.
