Member of the Ahtahkakoop First Nation
A husband, a father, a grandpa, a great grandpa, an uncle, a son, a brother, a friend, and a mentor. He was the kind of man many aspired to be. A man others looked up to, and wanted to learn from. His love for his family was unwavering and he always wanted the best for each of us. We are incredibly proud of all he accomplished. But what meant the most to him were the simple things – our time. He cherished watching us grow and took joy in the lives of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His face would light up when they called to share their achievements, especially in sports. He was always eager to know “ What was the score? And, did you score? Ray often spoke about the strong network of friends that he made, while playing hockey and golf. These strong relationships help him build business opportunities that strengthen the lives of First Nation people in Saskatchewan. The family often ran into people who knew him, and generously shared stories of appreciation about Ray. These stories remind us of the lasting impact he had on so many. We are deeply grateful and honored that the Creator made him ours. He had a strong work ethic and was a true advocate for First Nations People and his community. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in all of us.
