RCMP investigating death on Sweetgrass First Nation

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes are issuing an advisory to residents of an increased police presence on Sweetgrass First Nation.
Police are issuing the warning as a man was located deceased at a home on Friday. His identity was not released, and Victim Services are in the community to provide support. Investigators also advised that there is no threat to public safety in relation to this incident.
RCMP Major Crimes, along with Battlefords RCMP and the Battlefords RCMP Forensic Identification Services, will remain in the community for an unknown amount of time and are asking residents to stay clear of the area. Investigators are conducting interviews with residents and are gathering information to develop a clear timeline of events to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is also investigating, and an autopsy has been ordered.
