Two people facing major weapons and drug charges in NB
A 44-year-old North Battleford man and a 46-year-old woman are facing multiple weapons and drugs charges after being arrested on September 8.
At the time of the man’s arrest, the North Battleford Crime Reduction Team discovered a conducted energy weapon (CEW), 258 grams of methamphetamine and a sum of cash.
After further investigation between the CRT and the Gang Task Force, they found “three improvised firearms, illegal cigarettes, a sum of cash” along with a stolen e-bike.
The man has been charged with 12 counts each of weapons possession contrary to order and failure to comply with release order, two counts each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon, and one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, careless use and storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, possession of prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
