North Stars fall to Kindersley in pre-season matchup
The Battlefords North Stars had their sixth pre-season game last night as they took on the Kindersley Klippers at the Access Communications Centre.
The North Stars opened up the scoring in the first five minutes of the game with a goal from Ryder Boddez, assisted by Kobe Sawyer to take an early 1-0 lead. As the period went on, the North Stars were able to find quality scoring chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Eventually the Klippers fired back, scoring not one, not two, but three unanswered goals, coming from Will Christian, Cobe Perlinger and Rylan Wieler. As the period came to an end, the Klippers lead 3-1 to go into the second and outshot the North Stars 14-10.
In the second period, the North Stars came back to life, starting to move the puck better and finding some openings in the Klippers defence. This resulted in a goal from Moose Jaw product, Bryce Boughen, to close the gap to one.
