Dog, drone search for N. Battleford shooting suspect

A man was taken to hospital after being shot early this morning near 108th street with what police said are serious injuries.

RCMP were called around 2 am this morning for a reported gunshot and found the shooting victim.

Officers tried locating the suspect using the police dog service and the remotely piloted aircraft system but could not find the person or persons.

They are asking anyone with information to call the Battlefords detachment at 310-RCMP. People can also submit information anonymously by calling Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or on line at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

The public will be notified if there is an imminent risk to safety.

The investigation continues with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Forensic Identification Services, and Battleford and Saskatoon General Investigation Section.

Residents in the area may notice an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
