Drugs and weapon seized during Meadow Lake police checkup

According to a release from the RCMP, a Meadow Lake resident was the subject of an investigation that resulted in the seizure of drugs, a weapon, and trafficking paraphernalia.

On August 3, 2024, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team (CRT) visited the residence in Meadow Lake to check on an individual’s adherence to court-ordered conditions.

The conditions included a provision that allowed police officers to search the individual’s person, residence or vehicle without a warrant. During their investigation police located and seized approximately 11 grams of crack cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia, an illegally-modified firearm with the serial number defaced and ammunition. A photo of the seized items is attached.

41-year-old Dexter Fehr from Meadow Lake is charged with:

– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

– two counts, fail to comply with undertaking, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code;

– one count, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;

– one count, knowingly possess a firearm without a licence, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;

– one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, Section 95(b), Criminal Code;

– one count, possession of a firearm with a serial number removed, Section 108(1)(b), Criminal Code; and

– one count, possession of a firearm while prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

Fehr has been remanded into custody until his next scheduled appearance in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on August 19, 2024.
