Two facing multiple charges following Onion Lake patrol
Two people are facing multiple charges after the RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team (CRT), who were on patrol around Onion Lake last weekend arrested them after they initially ran a stop sign in a stolen vehicle. According to police, the forty-year-old man from Lloydminster and a 21-year-old woman from Onion Lake drove towards the cruiser – the latter needing to take evasive action to avoid being hit.
After setting up “a tire deflation device” the vehicle couldn’t be driven, and the pair took off on foot and were subsequently arrested.
The man has been charged with: one count, assault on police officer with weapon, one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one count, fail to stop for peace officer, one count, resist arrest, one count, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000 and one count, fail to comply with release order condition.
In addition, he had 11 outstanding warrants from Kitscoty, Lloydminster, and Maidstone RCMP.
