The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party has announced their candidate for the Meadow Lake riding ahead of this fall’s provincial election.

Miles Nachbaur will be the candidate in Meadow Lake, according to a news release sent out by the party on Wednesday.

“It’s time for a change from this out of touch government,” said Nachbaur. “I am proud to be on Carla Beck’s team that will deliver transparent and compassionate leadership for Saskatchewan people.”

Nachbaur previously held different roles at North West College’s Meadow Lake campus. He is currently the executive director of Meadow Lake and Area Early Childhood Services, while also volunteering in the community, coaching sports and sitting on numerous boards.

“Miles is an excellent addition to our growing team,” said Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck. “He has strong ties throughout the Meadow Lake constituency and will bring accountability and experience to the table as we fight to make life more affordable, while improving education and health care access across the province.”

Nachbaur becomes the 40th candidate to be nominated by the Saskatchewan NDP. The party’s next nomination meeting is scheduled for June 11 in the Lumsden-Morse constituency.

The 2024 Saskatchewan provincial election will be held on or before Oct. 28.
