Over 12K boxes of KD to topple over at Field House Thursday
When Dan Fox, school liaison with Living Sky School Division first conceived of the “fun, little project” to help the Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre, he never foresaw where the cheesy goodness would take them. Now, the communities have over 12,000 reasons to get excited about KD.
“It’s kind of morphed into this very large, very community driven, very publicly supported endeavour, now that’s going to be a monumental task to take on but one that myself and build team are really looking forward to at this point,” he said.
Since the initiative began, local schools, businesses and community members have donated just shy of 7,000 boxes of mac and cheese. Kraft Heinz Canada has also stepped into the creamy mix by matching the original goal with an additional 5,500 boxes.
“We blew past our milestone,” he said of their goal and noted he wasn’t surprised by the community’s response.
