Teachers Federation announces rotating withdrawal of noon-hour supervision on Tuesday

Mar 2, 2024 | 10:16 AM

The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) announced on Saturday that they are taking further job action early next week.

The STF said they have planned a rotating withdrawal of noon-hour supervision on Tuesday, which is in addition to the provincewide withdrawal of extracurricular activities also scheduled for Tuesday along with Wednesday.

The noon-hour supervision withdrawal means teachers will not be present to supervise students eating lunch at school or partaking in noon-hour activities.

Tuesday’s withdrawal of noon-hour supervision will affect all schools in the following school divisions:

• Chinook School Division

• Horizon School Division

• Northern Lights School Division

• Northwest School Division

• Prairie Spirit School Division

• Prairie Valley School Division

• Prince Albert Catholic School Division

• Saskatchewan Rivers School Division

• Sun West School Division

The previously announced withdrawal of extracurricular activities will begin on Tuesday and last through Wednesday, meaning all voluntary services involved in the organization, supervision and facilitation of activities, including athletics, non-curricular arts, clubs, field trips, student travel, and graduation preparations will be withdrawn.
