Feb 29, 2024 | 2:29 PM

A psychiatric assessment has been ordered for a Moosomin First Nation man, charged with three murders.

Wade Frenchman, 31, was not present when his case was discussed on Thursday at North Battleford Provincial Court.

He is charged with first degree murder in the deaths of Alyssa LeCaine and Daphne Bear from Dec. 24, 2021, and Tyler Mooswa from June 4, 2023.

During Thursday’s hearing, Defence counsel requested an extension for Frenchman to have a psychiatric assessment, indicating a psychiatrist was unavailable when they first tried to book one.

The case will return to court on March 27.

According to the RCMP, the remains of LeCaine and Bear, were found after a residential fire in the 1000 block of 108 Street in North Battleford.

In a separate matter, following a tip, RCMP located the body of 35-year-old Tyler Mooswa in an outdoor area on Moosomin First Nation June 4, 2023. His death was deemed suspicious.
