UPDATE: RCMP said they have recovered the spike belt but have still not found the suspect responsible.

Pinehouse RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating stolen items.

A media release issued Wednesday states on Feb. 16 officers noticed several items missing from one of its police vehicles during a regular equipment check.

An investigation determined that at approximately 4 a.m. on Feb. 15, a male suspect dressed in all black clothing approached police vehicles parked at the Pinehouse RCMP detachment and broke into a toolbox affixed to the back of a truck.

The male stole a spike belt, flares, a prybar and winch controls.

Police are actively investigating and working to recover the spike belt, and are now asking members of the public to report any information about this theft.

The spike belt is in a black plastic case approximately 60 by 50 centimetres, and three cms thick. It has a label with the word ‘Stinger’ on it.

The spike belt itself is an expandable metal grid with spikes on it.

Report information to Pinehouse RCMP at 1-306-884-2400. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
