SECOND SURVEY

North Battleford’s Perceptions of Safety follow-up survey now open

Feb 23, 2024 | 10:24 AM

The City of North Battleford’s new “Perceptions of Community Safety” follow-up survey is now open for public input.

It can be accessed online through the city’s website or can be picked up in person at several upcoming public outreach sessions planned in the community. The survey will be available for the next eight to 10 weeks.

The survey is only open to North Battleford residents, 18 years of age and older.

The city indicates the second “Perceptions of Community Safety” survey is being led by researchers from Wilfrid Laurier University’s Department of Criminology, as a follow-up to the first survey conducted in 2018.

Principal investigator Tarah Hodgkinson encourages the public to take part in the new survey.

“We hope this data will help to identify changes from the baseline survey in 2018 and identify any opportunities for community safety policy or interventions,” she said in a release.

As reported previously, the research team will investigate how perceptions of crime, neighbourhood, and social disorder or victimization may impact the health, wellness, and physical activity patterns of North Battleford residents.

For taking part in the survey, people will be eligible for complimentary passes to the Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre or the NationsWEST Field House.
