Province to officially raise age limit on tobacco purchases on Feb. 1
The province has set a date for when changes to the age requirements for tobacco and vape purchases will come into effect.
As of Feb. 1, the province will raise the minimum age for these purchases from 18 to 19 years old.
Last fall, the Sask. Party government passed legislation calling for the age limit to increase.
The change aligns age restrictions for smoking and vaping with those on liquor and cannabis sales in Saskatchewan, something that has been done in most provinces.
