Wilkie falls to Renous, N.B. in Kraft Hockeyville competition

Despite support from a litany of communities and notable figures, Wilkie was bested by Renous, N.B. for the title of Kraft Hockeyville 2019.

The rural Atlantic community will recieve $250,000 for arena upgrades and host a preseason NHL game.

Wilkie and Renous were in the top four with Rich Valley, Atla. and Saint-Polycarpe, Que., each of whom will recieve $25,000 for rink upgrades.

Additionally, North Battleford native Brett Wilson announced on Twitter he will add $25,000 to the kitty for Wilkie’s arena upgrades.

The town previously won $25,000 by making the top 10 in 2017.
