RCMP have charged three people with manslaughter for the death of a man in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, officers received a report of an injured person at a home in the community. There they found 42-year-old Randy Halkett who later died at the hospital.

Later that day, the RCMP arrested 24-year-old Garrett McDonnell and 28-year-old Jared Gale.

They’ve since issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old John McDonnell. He’s described as 5’10”, 221 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say he may be in La Ronge or one of the surrounding areas. Anyone who sees him should not approach him and instead contact police.

RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate Halkett’s death. They added there will be an increased police presence in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band for the time being.
