A spooktacular happening this past weekend brought out boils and ghouls out with their families during the Great Pumpkin Masquerade.

The event was to help kick off the spirit of Halloween and the Western Development Museum (WDM) in North Battleford was on hand to give the youngsters a lift.

“We like to do a family event so that people have somewhere to bring their kids and it isn’t freezing outside,” said Heather O’Neill, programming and volunteer coordinator with the museum.

“They can play games and dance and get a pumpkin for their family.”

Tanya Johnson came out with her family to celebrate Halloween together and take in the excitement.

“I come from Lloydminster and I met up with my brother and his family and then we all met up here to come and enjoy this and then we’re going to the movies,” she said.

Meaghan Menzel and her family also wanted to celebrate the spooky season and get together as a community. Her daughter, six-year-old Aaliyah Wuttunee dressed up as Isabela from Encanto “Because she has my favourite colour.”
