A world fashion show was one of the many highlights at this year’s Tapestrama Cultural Festival put on by the Prince Albert Multicultural Council.

The annual event ran this past weekend in Prince Albert and the fashion show was a new feature this year.

“We had people representing many many countries in their traditional clothing. We had never done that before,” said organizer Sylvie Charpentier. “It was nice because there were seven or eight countries from Africa that were represented.”

“The continent has so many countries in Africa and it’s not like they’re all the same. There’s something specific to each of these countries. So that was really good. And then we also had Ukrainian, Chinese, Indian.”

Charpentier added there were a lot of new dancers and artists this year.

She said there were about 800 people who attended the festival this year which was more than last year.

“Overall it was a really big success,” Charpentier said.
