RCMP ramping up police efforts after recent crime spree
Saskatchewan RCMP are increasing their police presence around Prince Albert and nearby areas after a string of recent violent and property crimes.
Mounties said they will focus their resources on the Prince Albert, Ahtahkakoop/Shellbrook, and Waskesiu/Montreal Lake areas. They said residents in these communities could notice an increased police presence in the coming weeks.
RCMP said some of these crimes could be gang-related, including the shooting in Little Red River First Nation.
Police said the numbers show a larger-than-usual increase in violent and property crime in the Prince Albert area for August, adding that formal numbers will be available later this fall.
