Jul 28, 2023 | 4:41 PM

Beauval RCMP are looking to return stolen items recovered in Canoe Lake First Nation.

On July 24, officers received a call about a truck driving into the community despite being refused entry.

The driver, later identified as Danton Dumont, 55, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was later found and arrested.

At the time of his arrest, Dumont had an outstanding warrant from North Battleford for operating a conveyance while prohibited and failing to attend court.

RCMP also determined that the truck Dumont was driving was reported stolen to Saskatoon Police Service on June 1, 2023.

Multiple stolen items were also recovered from the vehicle including tools, a slip tank, DVDs, and cables. Police believe they may have been taken from Saskatoon, Borden, Biggar, and Lloydminster areas.

People who believe some of the stolen items belong to them should contact RCMP at 306-288-6400. Officers may ask you to describe the items or provide the serial numbers.

Meanwhile, Dumont has since been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and three counts of possession of property by crime under $5,000.

He’s scheduled to make his next court appearance on Aug. 10, 2023.
