Saskatchewan finishes first at NAIG, more locals bringing home medals

Team Saskatchewan is coming home from the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) on top.

Saskatchewan finished above everyone else at the games, winning the medal count with an astonishing 175 medals; 51 gold, 63 silver, and 61 bronze.

Among those were many local athletes from across Central and Northern Saskatchewan with some even winning multiple medals.

While Team Sask. finished a top the podium, British Columbia claimed second with 161 medals while Ontario came in third with 127.

Saskatchewan had many individual winners in various events and did just as well in the team events, capturing medals in events like male and female soccer, volleyball, softball, among many more.
