North Battleford man charged with manslaughter after relative dies following altercation

Battlefords RCMP are charging a 29-year-old man with manslaughter after another man died from injuries sustained during an altercation.

On Thursday, police received a report of an assault at a home in the Village of Meota.

It’s reported that Clarence Buck and the other man, who RCMP have confirmed are related, got into an altercation that left the victim suffering from serious injuries. Richard Buck died two days later in hospital.

Buck was originally charged with aggravated assault after the altercation, however, the charge has since been upgraded to manslaughter.

He’s scheduled to appear in a North Battleford courtroom July 11, 2023.
