It was a full parking lot party for the Discovery Co-op’s free Drive-in Movie Thursday night in North Battleford.

More than 180 vehicles and 400 individuals from the community came out for the movie night under the stars, featuring the new Super Mario Bros. flick in the Discovery Co-op parking lot.

Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations with the Co-op, Beth Walls said they couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, in just the second year of the event.

“It was great to see all of the community support for this event, and to have everyone together,” she said. “This is such a great event to bring the community together and share a warm Saskatchewan evening. We appreciate the support from all the members and guests that attended.”

Deb M., who was among those in attendance, in what was a full parking lot right over to the home centre, thanked the Discovery Co-op, “for their hard work in creating fun activities for our community.”

“We loved the drive-in movie. The good movie, the weather, and our yummy CO-OP snacks made for a perfect Thursday night date,” she said.

In a release highlighting the success of this year’s Drive-in, Discovery Co-op stated they “remain committed to organizing events that bring joy, entertainment, and a sense of togetherness to the community.”

Walls said following the success of the Drive-in movie once again, they do intend to bring the event back next year, as the start of what they hope to be an annual occurrence.

“We’re definitely looking at organizing for next year, making it bigger and better,” she said. “We have some great ideas that we’ve learned from the last few years, so we’re hoping to continue on.”
