One arrested following firearms incident on Poundmaker Cree Nation

One man is in custody after a firearms incident on Poundmaker Cree Nation.

Early Sunday afternoon, Cut Knife RCMP issued a crime watch in the surrounding area following the incident after a person of interest in the investigation went missing.

After a short two-hour search, police arrested Terrance Favel, 51, on the Little Pine First Nation in connection with the incident.

RCMP said that police will remain on either reserve as they continue their investigation and that there is no threat to the public.

No further information was released.
