Pavement sealing work is underway in the province and it includes hundreds of kilometres of road in northern Saskatchewan.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Highways said about $25 million of the $776 million earmarked for highways will be used for seal coating on the roads. In addition, about $17 million will be used for spot, partial, and full seal work.

“Approximately $776 million is being invested this year into Saskatchewan highways to improve safety, enhance key transportation corridors and support the various industries,” Highways Minister Jeremy Cockrill said.

The ministry will improve more than 1,000 kilometres of provincial highways, putting the province on track to meet the Growth Plan goal to build and upgrade 10,000 kilometres of highways over 10 years.
