Downtown improvements underway for 12 Avenue at 102 Street

The City of North Battleford is advising residents that crews are undertaking work downtown for road and sidewalk repairs, and revitalization on 12 Avenue at 102 Street.

The project started Tuesday, and is expected to take about three weeks to complete.

“Downtown revitalization work continues ahead of summer today with the installation of a new sidewalk on 12th Avenue, east of 102nd Street,” the city said in its release.

A stretch of road at 12 Avenue, from 102 Street east to the lane behind Innovation Credit Union and the Eiling Kramer Building, will be closed to traffic during the work.

While construction is underway, the lane behind Innovation Credit Union will stay open. In the process, crews will demolish the old sidewalk and install a new one.

While the area is under construction, the front door of the Innovation Credit Union Building on 102 Street will continue to remain accessible for customers.

The front door of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture building on 12 Avenue will be closed May 9 and 10 when the old sidewalk is being removed. It will also be closed for another three days while the new sidewalks are being installed.

Workers will also install new curbs, gutters, and paving stones in the process.

“The City of North Battleford thanks impacted businesses for their cooperation and patience, and apologizes for any delays that this may cause for pedestrians and drivers,” the city stated.
