City hires new finance manager

There was a new face at the City of North Battleford’s council meeting this week.

Kelcey Maksymchuk was welcomed to the table as the city’s new finance manager.

Margarita Pena, the city’s finance director, introduced Maksymchuk to council.

Maksymchuk fills the vacant position previously held by Pena.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.

Maksymchuk also has 10 years of accounting experience.

“Kelcey brings to the city a vast knowledge of accounting standards, including the private sector,” Pena said. “She has a really good background on audits. With Kelcey on board, the department will continue to improve its processes and practises.”

According to her LinkedIn profile, Maksymchuk previously worked for Swanson Gryba and Company Chartered Professional Accountants in North Battleford before joining the city.
