Suspect arrested almost one month after armed robbery in Pierceland

A man wanted by RCMP after an armed robbery in Pierceland has been arrested.

Back on Feb. 16, Pierceland RCMP received a report of the robbery on Deer Lake Trail.

At that time, two people were parked in an SUV on the roadside when two other vehicles approached them. One man exited the SUV and a fight ensued with those from one of the other vehicles.

The man from the SUV was injured after a gun was fired. His SUV ended up being stolen.

Later, one of the suspect vehicles was found and three people were arrested but one man remained at large.

On March 10, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Kobe Kiseyinewakup. The Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team eventually found and arrested him on Island Lake First Nation.

He faces more than 10 charges including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, and mischief under $5,000 after he damaged an RCMP vehicle following his arrest.
