School bus and SUV collide in North Battleford

UPDATE: Battlefords RCMP are investigating the collision they said involves a stolen vehicle.

The car and school bus collided at the intersection of St. Laurent Drive and Douglas Avenue in North Battleford at about 7 a.m., Friday.

The school bus was not carrying any passengers at the time. The bus driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the car, a grey 2010 Volkswagen Golf, reported stolen Thursday, fled the location on foot.

Police continue to investigate the incident, and are trying to locate the driver of the car. No description of the driver is available at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

A school bus and SUV collided in North Battleford on Friday.

The incident happened near the corner of St. Laurent Drive-Clark Drive roads and Douglas Avenue shortly after 7 a.m.

North Battleford Fire Department and WPD Ambulance attended.

Living Sky School Division (LSSD) confirmed in an email to battlefordsNOW the bus belongs to First Student. It is a bus that picks up students for the school division.

No students were on the bus at the time of the collision. LSSD stated it is unable to provide further details regarding the incident at this time.
