Dec 16, 2022 | 5:26 PM

Battlefords RCMP saw a good response to its “Cram the Cruizer” food drive.

RCMP Const. Malissa Sekela organized the event to benefit the Battlefords and District Food and Resource Centre. Sekela, with the help of Const. Dean Fontaine, spent Dec. 10 at the Battlefords Discovery Co-op Food Store collecting donations for the fundraiser.

The RCMP said in its release it was a successful food drive, with community members helping officers cram three cruisers full of food. The event also raised $588 in cash donations. The RCMP said the local Food Bank reported this was the largest food donation they collected so far this year.

“The Battlefords RCMP Detachment want to thank all of the community members who participated in the event by coming out and donating food items,” the statement said.
