Town gives Citizens on Patrol Program a boost
The Battlefords Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) received a little more support at the Town of Battleford’s meeting Monday.
Council gave the OK to town administration’s recommendation to approve the COPP request for a funding contribution of $500 for the 2023 year.
The group’s vice-chairperson, Doug Fehr, said in his letter that the funding would be earmarked to reimburse volunteer members for fuel and maintenance costs for their personal vehicles used on patrol, and to create two COPP-logoed pop-up banners to be used at community events to increase awareness about the COPP.
He said the COPP has applied for grant funding from the City of North Battleford also.
