North Battleford Comprehensive High School under lockdown

Sep 14, 2022 | 12:45 PM

RCMP are currently on scene at the North Battleford Comprehensive High School after responding to an assault around 12:30 p.m. today.

According to a release from the Battlefords RCMP, one student has a non-life threatening injury stemming from the incident.

Police say the school has enacted its Safe Plan and further information will be released if there is an increased risk to the public.

As part of that Safe Plan, evacuated students are being escorted by staff and police as they relocate to the Civic Centre.

According to an email from the Living Sky School Division obtained by battlefordsNOW, buses will pick up students from the Civic Centre. Rural students will be bussed to St. Vital or Battleford Central where they will take their regular bus route at the end of the day.

Parents are permitted to pick up their child from the Civic Centre but must notify staff of the student’s departure.

Students are not permitted to return to the school or return to their vehicles parked at the school until RCMP has provided clearance to do so, the release said.
