Vehicle thefts, especially recreational, continue to hit rural communities in northwest Saskatchewan.

Turtleford RCMP are looking for a stolen ATV from the RM of Mervin. The report said it was taken sometime overnight on Wednesday from a residence at Turtle Lake.

The ATV is described as a yellow 2005 Honda 4 Track AT with a 2-up seat.

This comes after weeks filled with vehicle and property thefts in the region. Glaslyn RCMP are still investigating a theft and vandalism incident from a few weeks ago, while Meadow Lake RCMP SSgt. Ryan How recently told meadowlakeNOW that thefts of ATV’s and recreational vehicles has been an issue following a robbery that occurred Monday.

The Battlefords saw an uptick around the long weekend, which continued into this week.

As police continue to investigate this ATV theft, they are seeking public assistance with the search. Anyone with information related to this incident can call their local detachment via 310-RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
